Just a head's up, I graduate college this week with my bachelor's in game design. I guess if anything, I want to show to some poor soul out there that you can really do it, you may have to suffer a bit but it's possible.

A little background info: I wanted to do game design since I was 7 years old and actually started trying to do it then, noticing that nobody would take me seriously, so all I could do was wait and do what I could along the way. I am 32 now. Part of the reason I joined the military was because I was homeless for a bit and had nowhere else to go, so even though I may say things that seem like I didn't like my time serving, I have a healthier respect for the military than I did before, just wanting the military to be better as an organization and I'll always be thankful I got the opportunity to serve.

So, as I step into the future following my dreams, I want whoever reads this to know even if you have to keep your head down and get pummled a bit, never stop pushing forward. If you know the direction, you just have to take the first step that way and not let anything push you from your path. Find your purpose.

Thank you. I really am trying, it all feels like a dream and even tomorrow as I walk across that stage I know it isn't going to feel real.

My only hope as I get into this is that guys don't give me so much push back when I'm trying to explain why a game is designed the way it is, it happens to me all the time when I'm only trying to break down the barriers between players and game designers.

You should look into Army OCS and then going into simulations. PO3 Nicholas Bennett
