This post was a nice starting point for transition. The thing I found most helpful was finding a mentor who had transitioned before me and they assisted me through mine.

That's a great point... and one of the reasons we created RallyPoint... to help facilitate those connections. Thanks for being part of the network.

I like the mentorship comments. The article talks about being an _____ which really dumbs it down for me. Look most people that transition from the military don't need to be addressed this way as in don't be a jerk kind of tone that the article sets. My message would be tabled different than this but I will take the good from it. Pointing out the obvious of it is hard seems a little much too. Let's take that as a fact now tell me what to do. It doesn't have to be hard or impossible. It can be a great, joyous change as well. I see more of the bright side of opportunities than this author suggests in this post.

Great article! "The Critical Point In Military Transition Is To Understand That Things Are Very Different And They Will Become Even More Different." -- So true. Embracing change throughout one's life always makes the journey easier.
