Two weeks ago I had to submit a criminal waiver, on the day of meps my recruiting office realized I needed a criminal misconduct waiver for a resist arrest charge. I was denied to go to meps for my physical, we submitted the waiver. Two weeks later I got a call saying im approved for my physical, as a step to approve my waiver. Does anyone know how this works? Getting approved to meps a good sign?

Never had a speeding ticket :)
I'm really hoping they allow me to serve, would be a blessing.
It wont be an easy path, but I'll give it my all.

The MEPS folks know status. Unless somebody goofed they likely wouldn't have scheduled you without a wink or nod on waiver. Recruiter should know. Most waivers are telephonic, some get tricky. Good luck. Keep your nose clean, as this is in your record, or will be.

Thank you! Never was in trouble but that one time 4 years ago. I'm glad the process is near an end, I've really been worried about being denied and worried ill never be able to serve. It's in gods hands and I'll be there if allowed.

It's a good sign. Now you just have to wait until your Recruiter can get you slotted for a MEPS visit.

Alvin Geroy - If you are wanting 11X to go further on into the Special Operations community.....you're more than likely going to need a clearance.

One day hopefully I'll be approved for a clearence. 18x is my goal, I've never been in trouble but that one time 4 years ago, and I'll stay out of trouble. I'm really on a good path and never ever do wrong besides curse.
I hope in the future ill be approved for security clearances unless not possible period. 11x and airborne would be a great accomplishment in my eyes even if I can never go 18x.

Alvin Geroy - If you know for a fact that you will never get a clearance from the Army.....your career paths for MOSs are extremely limited.

I honestly don't know, I've been told I can't get one interim, but further along my career I may be granted one. You use to be able to have multiple charges and get in without a waiver, knowing I have a charge i'd rather not risk a failure of the clearance and risk being reclassed. I know there's a chance I can get one, but I don't want to roll the dice and reclass if denied. I'd much rather just go 11x, it's what I wanted anyways. The other jobs are cool like 15w or 37f. I just don't want to roll the dice on my career and get something I don't have any interest in.

68w is something I've gave thought to, because I scored high enough for it. I'm only up in the air between those two as a start to my career. 68w has the medevac path which is ideally something useful in civilian life, my only worry with 11x is if I do get out I'll have learened nothing civilian related.
