If I have been waiting for a SPF from Navy to Army since April, should I call MEPS? If so, should I speak to Navy Ops directly?

I have been waiting for a SPF from Navy to Army since April. Should I call the MEPS I was processed at for my first enlistment? If so, should I speak to Navy Ops directly?

Seems like an awful long time to be waiting, I'd give them a call to see what the hold up is.

Call your recruiter. A SPF takes 2min if that. Seems like someone dropped the ball.

That is just a SPF, if there is something else like processing done at another MEPS, a MEPS-2-MEPS, could take 30-45 days. No single action in USAREC takes 60+ days....

A SPF change is a MEPCOM action, not a service action. Unless you had taken a physical at another MEPS, or enlisted into the DEP of another branch, then it should not take but a day. If you had enlisted into another branch's DEP, then MEPCOM cannot do a SPF change until that service provides DEP discharge orders. They have up until your actual ship date to do that. For example a person backs out months ago, but the service holds the DEP discharge until ship date, which prevents the person from processing for another service.

I was in the Navy so I believe I would have to have been discharged from Dep once I shipped. Haven’t enlisted since my first enlistment.

Then you are in the Navy IRR? That would explain it too. The Navy has to approve your release from the IRR on a DD368 before MEPCOM can SPF you to the Army.
