I was very happy in the military. I planned to stay for 30. But, the after war cutbacks cut it to 14+.

Sometimes, but not often. One of the reason EOSed this year. Too much time away from family and friends, far too much time at work, too much BS in the way of doing the job I signed up for.
The few good times weren't enough to make up for the far more prevalent shitty times.
