Did We Make The Same Mistake Hitler and Napleon Made?

Hitler and Napoleon made the strategic errors of not knowing when to quit invading countries. Is this our fate now? The big difference is they used total war and ours are limited. To be honest, I did not endeavor to look at this much. I am just interested in your thought.

I think the way you are comparing us to Napoleon and Hitler is off. They both did it for personal conquest and power. We are doing it to eliminate a threat to society.

I would not say we are so capricious that we lust for imperial powers to take down multiple countries. I guess one can say Afghanistan is our Russia, except we have not thrown our whole might in defeating the country.
