SFC Gilley, Thank you for sharing this story, she is probably the oldest female veteran. I was able to met my grand mothers Honor Flight in DC and spend those 2 days with her. And the other veterans from South Dakota a few years ago. We had a great time touring and sharing stories.

Had the honor of greeting a Honor Flight that was entirely WAVES veterans.... and you thought only men were cat callers! I always enjoy meeting the women veterans of WWII, especially if I can pull escort duty with them. They maybe act embarrassed but they love the attention and being treated like a queen. I always go out of my way to talk to them and show them my appreciation.

Honor flight does an outstanding job helping our WWII vets. I myself have donated to Honor Flight and am glad I did. This was a great story 1SG Private RallyPoint Member thank you for sharing. Its great to hear a good story instead of all the bad that we have to hear.
