He is barred at the moment. Not only that. He is in the FAST class from 1300 to 1600. They also offer extra tutoring from 1000 to 1300. He asked his squad leader if he can attend. She allowed him go. Her platoon sergeant told her she was basically wrong. What I am trying to figure out is, is this possible AND if this is possible, why not let him go if they are going to kick him out if he does not get a 110 GT score? I am confused on this issue 110 GT or Get Out? 2014-06-24T15:09:20-04:00 SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member 162499

There is a soldier that failed out of WLC from failing the warrior test and his plan of action was to get a 100 GT score on the AFCT or they going to push him to get out. From what I see, since the Army is downsizing, they are less likely to give other chances.

WLC is a required course for stating in the military, so not passing stops any solder from further progressing. Is this soldier able to get back in? Response by LTC David S. But if he failed WLC I know there is no room for him to advance. When I went to WLC they told us if you fail any NCOES school that you're military career was going to be over. You can't kick a Soldier out of the Army for not getting a 110 GT on their ASVAB. That doesn't make any sense since it is an entrance test to determine job eligibility and is used as a baseline for schools like OCS, WOCS, and SOF to name a few. I don't even think a Commander can do what you are describing. If it were me, I would be at the door of the IG over this. Doesn't make any sense... Even if a 4856 says so. That's like saying if I give a 4856 to one of my troops that states the plan of action is to get a "100" on the PT run and they don't achieve it, I can push for separation. If you meet the standard, you meet the standard. However, as the Major said, me think there is more to the story. I was told a few years back that if you even received a "Marginally Achieved" on your 1059, you can kiss senior promotions goodbye. With downsizing, competition, and all other factors considered, your friend's chances of staying in for the long haul are slim...with or without the 110 score. This is a byproduct of contemporary military times of our current state and how we don't allow soldiers to fail anymore. The military fosters an attitude that solders can't fail in any aspect, or risk getting processed out.
