I just added up all of my overseas months and my deployment months and divided them by 12 and I got 10.66. I have been in the Army for 14 years and 5 months. I am scheduled to PCS next October and guess where the Army wants to send me? Overseas to Korea. Is anyone in the same boat as I am? I know people who have been in the same amount of time as me and besides deployments they have never been overseas. My current position is in a non deployable unit. I don't mind deploying but I am tired of living overseas. Any recommendations?

When I got home from Africa, the thought occurred to me when planning an anniversary trip for our 15th (since cancelled, but who knew) that I had been home for three of them so far. The 1st, 6th, and 10th. All of the others I was either deployed or in training or something for the Army.
And I'm in the Reserve.

Have you looked into an institutional training unit like an NCO Academy? All of that experience is very valuable.

Talk to your branch manager and lay out your case.

I dont know how the HAAP program works these days but when I was assigned to Korea in 2002, all it took was a 4187 to get me assigned to where I wanted to go next. PERSCOM had set my HAAP at Hood but that 4187 changed it to Stewart. All became moot though as I was selected for Warrant a few months later.

Eventually though, you need to tell branch that its time for some equity in assignments now that you are over the hill in TIS. There are many of your peers that have been CONUS all their career and now you should get a taste. There is the added bonus that you can go to almost any camp, post, station as long as there are 40-level slots open.
