Other than the state webpage I do not. However, one of the state guides, Steve Vose, runs a very good blog about his work. If you're looking to get in touch with someone with specific questions, perhaps that'd be a good place to start. His email is provided at the top of the "About" page.

You can go to the state fish and game office. They can give you all the information you need. I'm a sub guide in Nevada and the other way we get on board is to get a list of master guides in your area and find one in the area you want to work and get a job as a sub guide and after so may years you can then apply for your master guide licence. This is how it works in Nevada. I hope it will help. Sub guide work isn't to bad of a deal as Your Master guide has to pickup all the permits, insurance and land owner agreements. About all you have to do is Hunt Hunt Hunt. Don't plain on getting rich but you'll have Fun.

Based upon a recent experience with a class of college students, the first requirement would be to be able to find the state on a map of the country.

I was born and raised here in Maine if you can't find it on a map of the USA then you to go back to school and pay more attention in geography class just saying not trying to sound mean or disrespectful

You completely missed my point. Have you ever seen talk show segments on adult people in America who can't answer a Fifth Grade question? This class of college kids I was observing...well, let's just say you and I should hope that none of them ever get to a point to influence or affect our personal lives...they're educated idiots. I know Maine very well. Spent lots of time, years ago, in and around Jonesport.
