Does anyone know of an EO complaint that started out as an on the SPOT Correction for appearance / or any other reason not listed? I hear male soldiers use the excuse they don't want to correct female warriors due to "EO; I don't work with females...", and how they will get in BIG trouble if they even look at a female warrior the wrong way. Has anyone really been written up or is this an Urban Myth?

I have never seen an NCO or Officer that has PROFESSIONALLY (key word) corrected a Soldier receive an EO complaint.
Most complaints I received is about some NCO or Officer flying off the handle, making a scene, cursing at the Soldier and not treating the Soldier with dignity and respect.
It's one thing to correct a Soldier and it is another thing to embarrass the Soldier and belittle them in front of their peers and other people. Sad to say there are a lot of "leaders" who think these are the same thing.
Once you get down to the facts it always comes down to HOW that correction was made. Like I said I have never seen a complaint on a NCO or Officer who pulled a Soldier aside and respectfully told them about whatever correction they needed to make.

I personally went after an incompetent SGT who was female to bar to reenlist her and she filed not one but two EO complaints against me. Both were unfounded and then dismissed. But there was a history of this SGT of doing this in order to avoid being processed out of the Army.

A bar to reenlist is a rehabilitative tool, not punishment. Why would she make a fuss over that if that is giving her the chance to overcome her shortcomings?

Thank you, I agree it was crappy. The only reason I had brought my experience up was that after I typed the first comment about the soldier I felt bad because I don't know the whole story. She may have been a good soldier that simply didn't want to put up with the situation. I was an Engineer (equipment operator) and generally didn't work with other females. I tended to believe what the male soldiers said and treated her like the plague. Her example had nothing to do with yours.

We as a military and a society need to curb what we think and say about others as nobody ever truly knows what is going on with that person. It does nothing for morale in the unit when either of these two happens 1. people violate the EO and SHARP or 2. false allegations are made against others.

Urban myth. A EO rep will hopefully listen and make the call. I would also ensure in my command or Soldiers know what my standards are up front. Leave no question. That way no one Soldier is being singled out. I have no quarrels correcting any Soldier not to standard.
