14G Air Defense Management Systems Operator, what to expect? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/14g-air-defense-management-systems-operator-what-to-expect

I have been looking under every rock, and can still say I'm lost on what to expect to be doing in this MOS. Very basic information seems to be available. If anyone would be kind enough to give some detailed information to me regarding this would be great. Also how did/do you enjoy this specialty? Were you able to make a use of this skill in the civilian sector? Thanks in advance for any information! Assignments can include PATRIOT, Sentinel Platoon, ADAM Cell, or C-RAM to name a few. It also depends on your units mission focus and how they use their Air Defenders. You could spend a lot of time in the field, or you could be working for the S3 SGM driving or making slides. Again, depends on your unit.

I've enjoyed my time in the MOS, but I've also worked for some outstanding Warrant Officers and NCOs. I've had a lot of opportunities to travel, work on some pretty cool projects. But I've also had my fair share of cleaning our CONNEX's, motor pool maintenance, and field time.

If you get some good training, schooling, and experience you can make a petty good amount of money in the civilian world. Most of your job opportunities are going to be with companies like Raytheon and Northrop Grumman. If you get some computer network experience you can also look for work with any company that had a computer network. I just finished my classes. Commenting on what SSG Betts said about the classes you will learn at the school house, once you get to that part of the class it is death by power point and then repetition over and over until it is drilled in to your head. I really enjoy the MOS and this is just from my experience in training. It is very hard to find information on this MOS on the web as it relates to AIT. I attending basic training back in Aug-Nov 2014. What is AIT like there (classes, normal day, barracks, ect.)? This whole thing was hard to type trying to remember opsec and all that SPC Tim Wright Mon, 13 Jun 2016 02:31:46 -0400 2016-06-13T02:31:46-04:00 2015-11-08T12:31:17-05:00
