I actually do. It helps me tremendously in many areas.
Chronic pain, insomnia, lack of appetite, tinnitus, and yes PTSD.
I WAS heavily drugged up for 12 years following 11 surgeries in my final 2 yrs of service. opioids dependence and loss of the will to live.
Maxed out on Fentanyl, morphine, hey dividing, clonazepam/klonopin.
I was a blob of living death and worthless to everyone. My wife endured, thank god, and my family and friends supported my decision. The VA not so much. The VA Dr. actually doubted I could or would ever get free from the opioids, after all it was their treatment.
It works for me.
Am I 100%. Nope.
But I am 100% better than I was as a dying blob in a bed.
Sorry.
It's hard to get around the culture of prescribed medications versus a plant.
Decades of misinformation that could have resulted in me NOT having lost 12 yrs with family and friends and of course, myself.
End of my opinions.

They never test for THC. too costly with no added value for testing except for rehab patients.

SFC (Join to see) - They could. But, I would say it is more than extremely rare.
Good point though!
They could.
But don't.

SGM Barry Kindred - My VA doc is also the state flight surgeon. He's a straight shooter in general and one of the best docs I've dealt with in the VA. He knows Vets use cannabis and he brought it up with me before my last piss test to make sure if I did I could wait so both the opiates and THC didn't show up in my system at the same time. I don't smoke because of the driving I do and my job can do random piss tests (although I probably wouldn't anyway), which are the some of the reasons I refuse to take the script meds as well as not liking how they make me feel. Being a non-practicing alcoholic I also know I have an addictive personality and I'm not going down that rabbit hole.

Don't use it but I have fellow Vets who do and swear by it. If it works for you, you should be allowed to use it.
