I see this everywhere by military and civilians, on and off post. I am nearly hit by drivers daily because people cannot separate themselves from their phone while behind the wheel. Spread the word, and lead by example!

You make a very good point, one that our society is slowly starting to come together and share with you. This is obvious by the number or laws that are being adopted across this country regarding the use of cell phones while driving, not just on military installations. The fact these laws were not adopted sooner is unfortunate for the many people that have lost their lives or been permanently injured due to accidents attributed to texting while driving.

Affect positive change - Encourage all to stop texting and driving!

I did three years in Okinawa where you would simply loose driving privileges if you got cought using your phone on base. My son lost his for 30 days because he had his phone is his hand while driving. You should consider it a blessing if you make a trip to the corner store without some really "important" person who cannot be disconnected from their phone taking you out, now that I am stateside again. There is not too much that pisses me off more than seeing someone driving crazy and placing everyone around them in danger while talking on the phone, or even worse, trying to text and drive!

Could not agree more. I get especially angered when I see civilians driving with one hand holding a phone to their ear. In Alabama it is not illegal if one is over 18 to drive while using a phone.

Does it bother you when you see people drive off post when talking (not hands free) or texting and driving?

Absolutely! I was almost run off the road yesterday by a civilian driver that was texting and driving. I recently printed signs that say "Get off your phone" and "Stop Texting and Driving" that I carry in my POV, and I hold them up for other drivers to see when I see them doing exactly that. When I'm on my motorcycle I make hand gestures to incline my dissatisfaction.
