25B/25N Merge In The Future?

As a recently promoted 25N, I've been weighing my options for re-enlistment, but I keep hearing whispers about a possible 25B/25N merge due to the new Cyber Defense MOS' that are currently being stood up. I'm just curious to see if anyone else has heard anything recently about this? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would check MILPER message or ALARACTs. These usually will have that sort of information.

Nothing is set in stone but yes talks of this are ongoing. I would advise dropping your 25D packet if you want any shot at promotion in the signal community for awhile. Just look at the MSG list for FY15 zero selected for promotion in any CMF but 25D.

Also last I heard reenlistment for 25D came with 13000 bonus and promotion to SSG upon graduation from course.

I hope so and then kicks his ass for continuing to pressure celebrities to attend military functions out of guilt. Plus its played out.....grow up.

Since we are dealing with an infant Cyber capability, there will be a lot of uncertainty and turbulence for a long while. The best bet is to do what SSG . Rodney recommended and go 25D. Not for the money but for the prospects. If you pass, you will be one of the trailblazers and will have a greater chance of promotion and responsibility (i.e. better job in and out of the military). If you don't pass then, oh well, you tried and 25B/N will still be there.

I haven't heard anything about a merger but all in all the merge will be easy for 25B's because Networking is the bulk of our schooling. The merge may help a 25N in the long run because you will no longer be competing with 25L, or 25Q for the SFC promotions. Like everyone else I would recommend going 25D, I submitted my packet and was accepted. If promotion is what you want then 25D is for you, if you want job satisfaction 25B/N might just benefit you.

The merge is going to happen before FY19. 17 MOS down to 11. I dropped my 25D packet. THe 25B lane has slowed down to much.

What they still haven't decided to merge yet. I remember back in 2010 when I was in AIT they where supposed to do that in 2011. It's crazy that it's been so long and still they have not finalized it.
