Im about to turn in a compassionate reassignment packet in order to get moved closer to home due to my mothers health. About how long does it normally take to get approved

My guess is that the most accurate timeframe is "it depends".

Some get theirs sooner rather than later. My former squad leader put in for compassionate reassignment about 6 months or so before I ETSed, and was still there when I left. I have no idea how long after that it took or if he got it approved at all.

Hopefully your experience is better. Good luck!

I did a Compassionate back in 2012. Stationed in Egypt while my family stayed in AL. I started the process in June and it was finalized in August. The initial approval of the compassionate changed my status from being PCS'd to Temporarily Attached to a unit in AL until HRC cut the orders. Good luck and hope your mother's health improves.

Four to Six months. I would contact ARNG G1 for assistance.
