If you or your spouse are a stay at home parent, do you have a way to generate supplemental income?

My significant other is a stay at home mom. She's looking for a way to generate a little extra income, but with my work schedule and the kids school schedules, getting a job with the right schedule would be difficult. She's a crafty person and is considering Etsy as a possibility. What do you or your spouse do? Are there avenues like Etsy that you use?

There’s a lot of good MLM and direct sales companies out there! However your SO could also get an insurance license, a real estate license, or if they have a bachelor degree a tutoring job that is strictly online. One company that excels in tutoring is VIP Kids - I know a lot of stay at home moms that tutor and make up to $20 an hour. I do surveys and market research when I can and get paid pretty well for the time spent.

I have an app called 1Q on my phone. You put in your profile and how much you want to get paid per question. Sometimes, your profile matches the needs for a specific research set. I’ve made $50-$200 for one-time (1/2hr) phone surveys.

Etsy is good, multi level marketing things are a big deal right now. My wife sells essential oils which don't cost much to get into. Some of the MLMs cost thousands of dollars to get into and some are easier.

She did Mary Kay for a while and dropped like 3 grand on the inventory she had. That's not realistic for us right now. She's not really a people person either so that was hard for her to really benefit from.

Yea that's a ton of inventory haha. This one is more like you have to spend 100 bucks a month of stuff for yourself and you can sell without needing to buy product to sell. My wife makes about what she spends each month so its not a huge deal, but my sister is talking about having her husband retire and raise babies. I'm telling my wife she needs to get on that haha.

While I had a full-time job, my wife was also on the payroll at my business (insurance agency.) But in the times she was unable for one reason or another we also collect and sell antiques via several venues. Earlier, when our kids were really small, my wife worked for a company that was very accommodating to her scheduling needs. KB (wife) was always able to be home when the boys were home. This was ALWAYS our first priority. The boys were at the top of the list of what needs to be taken care of. Has to be that way. I fear that in society in 2000s that is not the case and our community conditions bear that out. I could go on and on about this issue, but I am sure you all understand and probably feel the same as I do.
