Don't believe what they tell you. 35N is a great MOS with great opportunities. 35S is not bad but a lot of them end up doing November work half the time depending where you go. Both jobs will set you up for life after the military.

Ten months ago you had sworn in and signed a contract and you were trying to change your MOS before shipping to basic. What happened to you going to Basic Training?

Is there any way I can change my MOS? I swore in and signed a contract, but I haven't been shipped to basic. I choose it based on the bonus. I read alot of reviews that it was a horrible job and offers no real skills for cilvilian life.is there ANY WAY i can change it or is it too late?

John Joseph We Don't have MOS in the Navy We Have NECs but Anything with 91 Series You Might Get Such an "Opportunity" Having Said that If You are in Such a Position You Will be forced to Sign a Document that Amounts to "Thou Shalt Not Spy on Thy Fellow Americans" Yes I had 9182, 9185 and 9187 NEC.

If you mean American's phone conversations that would be some type of law enforcement, with a warrant signed by a judge. Probably not the military path unless becoming an MP with the plan to move to civilian law enforcement.

If you mean foreigner's conversations that's more the civilian intelligence agencies (e.g. NSA, since we all agree they exist these days). If your eventual goal is to get into one of those agencies, I'd get into an MOS that's going to send you to DLI, particularly in a language "of interest" (Chinese, Russian, Farsi, etc).

Yeah, unless you want to be fitted for a nice orange jumpsuit, or perhaps do a long-term gig where you break big rocks into little rocks, you may need to do more homework. That kind of stuff requires warrants and very clearly defined mission sets, many of which are outside military jurisdiction.
