Does anyone have an expert-level opinion on steel plates (body armor) and the differences between Level III and III+?

Sir please pay attention to your plate carrier there will be corresponding description saying what type of plates its built for it'll specifically say steel plates. There obviously is a weight difference l steel plate carriers can take sape sape cant take steel

I've always heard a lot comes down to velocities; so maybe 7.62 won't go through something...but "some" 5.56 will?
What's the "dope" on the "affordable" AR500/Spartan Armor set ups? Have been told these "must" be wrapped in added Kevlar to prevent death from fragmentation, but am struggling to find "facts".
