I am part of the Wall Street Warfighters Foundation (WSWF) in Philadelphia.
WSWF is a highly selective program that helps veterans transition into a career in the investment industry. It was started by the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Peter Pace, USMC (Ret.)
Our veterans are from every branch of service and come from both the enlisted and officer ranks. Some have come to us directly from the military, others have been in civilian life and are now seeking a transition into a new industry.
Many of our participants could greatly benefit from talking to veterans that have transitioned into the investment/financial services industry and are willing to share what it's like to work there.

I would be honored to help! The transition period is tough; finances are one of those topics that ignorance is not bliss. I all too often run into military that have not planned accordingly. How may I help? I agree with TSgt Thomas, starting sooner is paramount.

This is very interesting. I've reached out to current and outgoing military personnel and I'll tell you, we are a tough bunch. We were very secure right up until that time to let it all go. At that point we realize there was so much more we needed to know. One thing I'm sure we've all heard over and over is "I wish I had started sooner". I feel obligated to share a little insight to anyone (especially our veterans) who will listen.
