My ETS date is in May of 2021 and I am wondering what the window is set to right now to see my earliest option for reenlistment. Hoping a current career counselor can help me out. I'm in USAREC right now and cannot simply swing my retentions office.

It's 15 months out from ETS, 16 months from ETS you can lock in an option. If you're an E6P, on assignment, or have 10 years from your BASD to ETS, then you don't have any reenlistment options.

I do have another question and I'm sure the answer is no, but can you reenlist for DS duty?

SSG Clint Underhill no you have to apply directly to them and be accepted. If you haven't finished your KD time you'll probably be told no because of the prohibition against TDA to TDA movements.

Not even. I truly believe that I will make it with or without. DS is just a career goal of mine and I was not afforded the opportunity before I started out my time in recruiting. I'll keep pushing for it though lol
