I recently saw this article on a separate site which I follow.
Some of it is unfortunate that he was not present for the great events which he was a part of.

He served in my company (he served in A Co and also HHC, 1-36 Infantry) in Iraq (2006 - 2007). He NEVER asked for (or received) special treatment. He was a good Infantryman and a good Soldier, always respectful and courteous.
