4th ID vs 4th Engineer battalion?

4th ID vs 4th engineer battalion? Anyone willing to share pros and of cons of their experience in either one of these units

The 4th Engr Bn was our sister bn (I was in the 299th) during my time at Ft Carson (92-95). That said, the 4th Engr Bn is a solid organization that trains very hard downrange, Pinion Canyon Trng site, NTC, etc. and deploys regularly to the current need.

Like many have said, the best unit is the one you just left and the one you just arrived at.

So both have their good points and bad so the optempo is crazy in 4ID and they lost site of proper planning because of that makes balance in life stressful. Now 4EN is very busy to but overall from all of my Soldiers I have sent over their they seem to enjoy it much more the only thing they have to say is they end up going to NTC two or three times a year and never really deploy

I was in 4th Eng. BN. 96-98. I loved it. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I did do 1 Pinion Canyon and 3 NTC's but having great leadership and great organization within the Battalion itself made things a lot better.
