IF you are thinking you can go see a recruiter, sign on the dotted line, say the oath and be on your way to your next unit... nope. Even when the draft was happening, there was still a process to assess your fitness to serve. That will still be the case now. A recruiter will need to look at your old record and discharge information, look at your MOS strength and/or desire to reclass. If there are no show stoppers there, you will still have to pass MEPS assessment.

Now call your recruiter. TBH, I don't understand why you are digging for info here first. You will get better and most current info based on your situation just by going to the recruiter, without any obligation.

Define long? Are you in the IRR stage now or are you completely done with that as well? Cause I had to only sign my papers to come off of IRR and return back but go to a reservist unit. If you have been out past your IRR stages then yes you will have to go back through MEPS once again and god help you there man. There's not a huge war right now nor an invasion so it's not like they're just taking bodies at this point especially with the new physical fitness standards and demands coming out on people to push in order to be promoted, deploy, or get out. So really consider and weigh your options before doing it. If you're truly wanting to go back in however, be warned, it's not like the old days where it was oh yeah we need bodies here and here. Now it's well you can either do this or we don't need you at this point and time.

Best of luck to you and keep us updated please
