While this is relatively old news, article was published about 6 months ago, it shows that military service is one of the most respected institutions in the United States. It also shows the last decade as representing an all-time high for those in uniform.<div>Having served, what do you think?</div><div>http://www.gallup.com/poll/1597/confidence-institutions.aspx&nbsp;<br></div><div class="pta-link-card"><div class="pta-link-card-picture"><img src="http://wsdc.gallup.com/dcsdh1hzt5k8osnaj9x0uqyt0_9i8v/njs.gif?dcsuri=/nojavascript&amp;WT.js=No&amp;WT.tv=8.0.3"></div><div class="pta-link-card-content"><div class="pta-link-card-title"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.gallup.com/poll/1597/confidence-institutions.aspx">Confidence in Institutions | Gallup Historical Trends</a></div><div class="pta-link-card-description">Now I am going to read you a list of institutions in American society. Please tell me how much confidence you, yourself, have in each one -- a great deal, quite a lot, some, or very little?</div></div><div style="clear:both"></div><div class="pta-box-hide"><i class="icon-remove"></i></div></div>

CW2 Evans, I've seen the poll before and I think the results are great!&nbsp; I think the reason for the results relates to the high emphasis we place on ethics in the military.&nbsp; Each branch of the military has core&nbsp;values based on honor, duty, integrity, selfless service, commitment, etc.&nbsp; I think respect is derived directly from trust and it seems clear to me that the American people have a tremendous amount of trust for our military.&nbsp; Personally, it makes me proud and comitted to uphold that trust.&nbsp; I think that the fact that the military is a voluntary force and that&nbsp;every single one of us&nbsp;takes an oath to defend the Constitution and the United States speaks to our commitment and further engenders the trust of the people we defend.&nbsp; With the ethical violations that have been so prominent in the media lately, I hope we as an institution can better ourselves and keep those few "bad apples" from ruining the reputation we have collectively built.
