Does a permanent hearing profile make a Soldier non-deployable?

Hearing Readiness Classifications (HRC) 1 and 2 are deployable. HRC 3A thru 3C are non-deployable. Reference is DA PAM 40-501, Section 4-6. This will also give info on other HRC designations.

Just checked. I am a MRC 1 with a permanent profile for hearing. I think we are both right as hearing can make you an MRC 3 but that is not my situation.

It depends how bad your hearing is & what MOS. I'm a 91X & have a P3 & am still deployable. You also must have the medical review board approve your waiver to be Deployable.

Not by default. I've deployed a few times, and I wear hearing aids (when I don't temporarily missplace them).
