As a retired 92Y I can tell you that being a Supply Guru is one of the best jobs in the service. As far as cons, the only one I can tell you is that you work harder and longer than everyone. I myself did not find that to be a con. I always took great pride in my field, and strived to be the best. The best advice I can give you is to hit the ground with the mindset to study and study hard. 92Y's are the life source of the military. Your whole Unit depends on you. The success of the mission is in your hands. I started my career in the arms room and ended it as a Property Book Officer. There are no limits at what you can achieve as long as your willing to do the work.

The pros and cons depend on you and your goals. If that's your goal, do it with pride. Supply specialist is an important job. Everybody else is depending you. If it would bother you to not be relaunching bullets in the heat of battle, 92Y is not for you. The important thing is to be happy in your job and earn pride in knowing you did your job well. Being a supply specialist certainly has a civilian application following separation, probably more job opportunities than bullet launchers find.
