Is the Guard on Title 10 or Title 32 pay? If Title 32 is DC paying for all states? Is Congress supplementing any/all state pay? If a NG troop does not pass FBI/NSA "vetting", read democrat party loyalty test, who pays to send troop home? Once loyalty is established, I have been told the troop must take an added oath to support and defend Congress, in addition to the Constitution.

It sounds like you've been reading too much Facebook gossip, read Russian internet troll farm.

From what I saw the activation is a Title 10 activation. There are no additional oaths. If the FBI doesn't vet people and one of those Soldiers happens to be an extremist who tries to start another riot, gather Intel for an extremist group, or has connections to seditious groups, then it will look pretty bad that the FBI didn't vet them in the first place

Haven't seen anything on fb about this. Got this from a parent of NG troop. With the FBI vetting of Guard it is like the 2 tiered Soviet type system where there is the Army chain and the political commissar, who vets the officers, troops & authorizes actions. This whole DC troop deployment has too many loose ends.

I think in the end we all pay. Taxes and all.

Well said. The box marked Federal Deduction and State Deduction on my W2 provides a complete answer (sic).

Always go to the source. During similar unrest last May, the Guard was activated. It has to be Title 32 because under Title 10, Posse Comitatus applies, hence no ability to perform police functions. The DC NG unit reports directly to the President. However it is very small. Bill Barr's letter pretty much is a NG 101 primer for the local mayor who was obviously clueless. The money came from the Feds as this wasn't a state activation. That said, was it legal? When Title 32 is used as a workaround to avoid Posse Comitatus, it's fertile ground for legal challenges.

There are now 2 answers, Title 10 and Title 32. But, I thank you for the Barr info. Are NG chopped to DCMPD of DC NG, do you know?

They would chop to the command center just like FBI, DCNG, BATF, Prisons, and all the other entities. How that is set up and who is the boss isn't clear to me, but I'd assume it's controlled by the Executive Branch. The funny thing is I don't know if the Capitol Police report to the same entity as they work for the Legislative Branch and also serve the Supreme Court. They may be coordinate only status. Someone with direct knowledge would be a vastly better source.
