Don't know and don't care...cook it to med-rare and slap it on a plate with a nicely dressed baked potato, a salad and a tall glass of sweet tea and I am good to go!!

Just remind the veggie groups meat is nothing more than processed grass and grains.

I'm not sure I get this...What exactly is "451 gallons worth of water in feed per day"? That seems to be the number on which the entire story relies and that is undefined. This sounds like more shaky PETA, anti-beef math. Not sure I buy much of word of it.

When they start off an ad with dairy cattle (the black and white cattle are Holsteins which are milk cattle) talking about beef cattle production they are already highly suspect for being ignorant.

Thanks Captain Obvious. I was questioning the arrival at the number. Remember, cattle not only eat feed but also graze naturally. Some of the feed is by products that might not be used for human consumption too. The number is incredibly sketchy with no supporting facts, just a number presented as factual.

Well after growing up raising feeder cattle on my dads farm(not milk cows as in first picture). I can tell you they drink a crap load of water..lol. We had 1 huge feed lot(200-300 cattle at a time). We had 3 different "water troughs" that stayed constantly in use. Add into it the amount of moisture in the silage(chopped up corn stalks). We didn't let them naturally graze. More or less controlled their diet..lol.

Nothing like good old mid western corn fed beef. Now that's a steak!!

SSG John Thornton . My post questioned the statement as it related to the number. I asked: "That seems to be the number on which the entire story relies and that is undefined".

What this also ignores is the fact that everything we eat requires water. You have to grow plants too. The netted out number (gallons of water for plants per serving vs beef per serving) might at least be an honest number.
