Join the Family Coordinator Program Listening Session!
Access the Microsoft Teams meeting on Mon, Dec 12th 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM ET.
This is an hour long listening session to hear from Veterans on the following items below:
» What kind of support does your family provide you?
» What kind of care do you provide your family?
» What do you need from VA to address the needs of your family?
» Describe what resources you feel would be useful to you or your family.
» What is the best way to provide you with information about resources in the community?
» In light of that care and support, what specific education (e.g., childcare or safely caring for another person, information sessions on VA benefits for families) would you like to see offered to you or for your family members at VA?
» Are there any family or other caregiving obligations that prevent you from getting the care you need? What are some specific examples?

Do you qualify for VA Caregiver funds? This is often a mystery to veterans and spouses because the VA does not do a good job advertising it.

MAJ Ken Landgren
SGT Ruben Lozada - I was thinking. The VA should create a timeline for veterans with disabilities that list all the actions that must be taken with suspense dates. It's a sequence of events. I say this because as 100% I was afforded free life insurance with the VA. However, I had to have applied within two years of my retirement; but nobody told me that, so I am missing out. Of course, my confidence in the VA creating such a timeline is around 1%. It makes too much sense and the VA will stick to the status quo, thereby ensuring more veterans get screwed.
When I go to the Ft Leavenworth commissary I often talk to veterans and the vast majority of them have no clue about the VA Caregiver Program and Funds. Just look at the original post. There is no mention of the VA Caregiver Funds.
