Sen. John McCain introduced a bill Wednesday that would extend the VA Choice Card program indefinitely and expand eligibility to include every veteran enrolled in VA health care.
Saying the Veterans Affairs Department has been "slow to implement the program" since enactment a year ago of the law broadening private care options for veterans, the Arizona Republican believes his bill would remove any lingering uncertainty about the program, which will end in 2017.

LOL CSM Michael J. Uhlig, He and Obama had finished a discussion and McCain was acting like an idiot. I picked it out because I think he has been an idiot with the way he hasn't helped us, much less pull for something good to happen for us. I don't have much respect for the man.

Yes, I believe it would especially in areas where the VA Medical Centers are short of specialized doctors and areas with large distances between VA Medical Centers SGT (Join to see).
I have received great care from local specialized doctors who were coordinated by the VA Choice Program.

LTC Stephen F., It would sure help the vets in the rural areas of Texas. Some vets drive 3-4 hours to come to the Houston VA because it offers what they need, and can't get in the rural locations.
