Is it just me or do others find the worship of celebrities confusing? It seems that ant time of day or night a television show about the Kardashians, Osborne family, or some other "famous" family is on. People obviously watch such shows, otherwise they would not be on! But my question is why? If I want to see a bunch of spoiled people whining, all I have to do is visit some of my relatives, the same with drug addicts! Why waste time watching others live their lives while I can be living mine?

There's actually a pretty funny country song out, called "Celebrity" and it's by Brad Paisley. You might get a laugh from it, Sir.

I agree wholeheartedly with you, however. I don't quite understand the fascination in these celebs, unless they're actually attractive and even then, reality shows are unnecessary. I haven't sat down and just watched TV in a couple years, unless you count football, so I'm a little out of the loop with all the nonsense. Doesn't seem like I'm missing out on much though. All I could think of it is, maybe the fascination comes from the desire to live the lives that these celebs live. Lord have mercy on those individuals.

Well CH (MAJ) Thomas Conner celebrity worship dates back at least to the Roman Circus where gladiators fought each other with Caesar listening to the crowd as he gave a thumbs up for life or thumbs down for death; where the area was flooded so that triremes full of gladiators or slaves could fight to the death; and where Christians were fed to the lions and other wild beasts. Some Gladiators were worshiped as heroes as were Generals such as Pompeii in the days of Julius Caesar and Octavian. We also remember Nero and Caligula who demanded to be worshiped as gods.
The only one I worship is my God who is my Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ along with the Holy Spirit and God the father - three-in-one God and one-in-three beyond anything we could possible understand.

CH (MAJ) Thomas Conner,
I am glad I do not watch television. One of the reasons why I haven't watched it in years.

I am quickly coming to your side! Why have 150 channels with nothing to watch?
