Nothing dramatic or controversial here, I just wanted to send out a special congratulations  in honor of my wife, who was presented the Commanders Award for Public Service today, in honor of the ridiculous amount of time, sweat, and effort she put into the Fort Lee community and the Combined Arms Support Command.<div> </div><div>I only include the image of the award and certificate because I keep getting asked what that award even is =o)</div>

I should probably put this particular point for all to see; I'm going to give it about 24 hours to see if I can garner enough congratulations, and then introduce her to the page. I'd like her to see that the military can kindly show support, even from thousands of miles away..

There is nothing trivial or inappropriate with giving your wife props, because it is honorable.   My mom was a military wife and many times wives are not given the credit for the things they do and keep families together.  Best wishes and congratulations.

Congrats, I like nothing better than seeing a spouse/children embrace the Army family. When a spouse is so involved they practically need an office at the company is great. Continue to do what you do Mrs. Hasbun it is needed and appreciated!

Amen I have been in role of Active Duty and Reservist as well as wife of active duty spouse.. The hardest role was the wife of AD spouse.. Yes thanks is definitely deserving of all spouses of military members!! Big Thanks for all they do for they play a critical and important behind the scenes in keeping the family together through this hard lifestyle!! Kudos!!

Yes , congrats to Mrs. Hasbun, it is a hard task to be a military spouse, especially with the optempo of the last decade, tell her thanks for all she does and has done. I have to give some props to my wife as well, she also won this award a few years back while I was stationed at Fort Lee, they are one of the few posts that do great things in recognizing spouse's efforts and dedication to service. The first organized "Unit" that ever existed on the planet was a family. It meant subsisting, surviving, and many other things that have benefited the human race since time began. Spouses are total team players and partners in every respect, that support the AD spouse to be FMC (Fully Mission Capable). My wife, before her untimely passing nearly 12 years ago, was indispensable to me in just about every area of my life. I could not have been as much of a success as I was without her presence and support. Thank you for raising this topic, it is one that deserves a resounding thanks and high-fives (and maybe a dozen roses or something special for you men to give your wives!) ;-) O:)

Congratulations, Ms. Hasbun, and thank you for your service and sacrifice. It is clearly all the more warranted because you also have to train the junior Airborne Ranger there on your hip.  Hey, maybe your husband should get a medal for having the good sense for marrying you!

The “Commanders Award for Public
Service” is the volunteer equivalency of an Army Commendation Medal, requiring
an O6/COL or higher level Commander to approve. An Army Reserve FRG volunteer
has the basic requirement of 1500 hours to even be considered (USAR608-1),
although AR672-20 does not make hours a requirement. I have no doubt that she
is very deserving, tell her congratulations.
