A large minority of Americans now believes the U.S. is losing the war on terrorism. Do you think they're right?

In the immortal words of John Paul Jones, "We have not yet begun to fight". Remember his ship was sinking and his colors struck away by canon shot when he was asked. Also remember, he won...

Terror is a means to an end.. it was employed by the KKK, groups like the Red Army Faction and it it ultimately failed. It was also employed by Irish Republicans and the Stern gangs of Israel and it was successful enough that Israel and Ireland are both independent nations, largely because of terror campaigns waged on their behalf.
Now we face terror at the hands of Islamic extremists and far right groups within our country. Whether it's someone shooting up an abortion clinic or trying to take down a Federal building in Oklahoma City, or flying planes into the word trade center or shooting up gay clubs the nature of those attacks has clearly changed. Instead of organized groups pulling off large scale operations in the US, we have lone wolves who having adopted Islamic extremist or other extremist ideologies going after soft targets.
The shift in threat from organized groups to lone wolves highlights two things. First, it shows that we have been effective in shutting down organized terror groups here in the US. Second, it shows that terrorism is something that can not ever be completely eliminated.

You just can't blame far right groups. Many far left individuals and groups have created violence and death also with terror.

When is the last time we have had Communists commit a terror attack in this country? Not during my lifetime. There have been some environmental extremists, like the uni-bomber... however that is so rare, he's the only one that comes to mind. There are Animal rights extremists who free animals from captivity, however that's hardly a threat to your average American. When I compare that to just the violence against abortion clinics in the US, it seems fairly insignificant. Then there is the KKK and similar groups, not to mention militias groups liek the ones that carried out the Oklahoma City bombing... http://archive.adl.org/learn/ext_us/kkk/crime.html?xpicked=4&item=kkk
Ku Klux Klan -- Extremism in America
Once America's preeminent terrorist organization, the Ku Klux Klan today is a fragmented and amorphous collection of independent groups and individuals, constantly squabbling over diminishing memberships and limited resources. Passed over by most young white supremacists, who consider Klansmen to be ineffectual and faintly ridiculous old-timers, the group presents far less of a threat to public order than at any time in the past century....
