For those of us that partake (and those that don't. We are all family), let us lift our glasses in remembrance...

Respect. No one will truly appreciate everything you have been through except for another veteran. Didn't do it for the pay (that's for sure) or for some sense of entitlement, but responded to a calling. Freedom isn't free. It's easy to complain about what is wrong in your country but it takes a very special person to wear a uniform and surrender your freedoms to ensure that they will remain available for future generations. I love you all.

We've been talking about each other and forgot about one NCO that probably has saved more lives than one of us on various occasions. The K9 handlers and their NCO dogs are as much a part of the fight as any weapons system out there. Remember they can smell shit we cannot see. They can hear what we think is/is not there, and they know when a situation is FUBAR'D before we do. But these K9's do it for NO pay, NO benefits, and until recently were considered class 9 items to be left behind. I want to personally thank my furballed NCO brethern becuase today is OUR day becuase YOU allowed it to. I don't know your names, but I've caught many of you during my time as a MP. Thanks brothers with four paws. Bring your owners home the same way both of you left. You have made me a true fan of yours, and I want a service dog one day. I've never been as happy as I am with a service dog.
