<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would argue that waiting until the last possible moment to transition to the dress uniform adopted by the Army is akin to meeting the minimum standard. You may be right, but you do not set the best example as a leader and a professional. I understand that many may have personally preferred the tradition of the greens, and purchasing ASUs is a financial hurdle for all of us that had to transition, but at this point it is difficult to understand why a professional leader could not have made the switch.<br>

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No excuse. Just do it. Buy it piece by piece if you have to. But overall it's your responsibility just as so your career progression. Consider initiative when SM have ASUs now who chose not to wait until the deadline. Uniforms are constantly changing just as everything else in life. Adjust fire, lean forward in the foxhole.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I agree that leaders should be leading the way.  At the same time I know some leaders who have two sets of class A uniform because they came out of pocket for the commercial set (that looks better than the issue).   I don't feel that people should be looked upon negatively for wearing an authorized uniform, but if they're trying to set a dedicated example, they should acquire the ASU. (I have two sets of both. One each issued, one each commercial. What a money pit)

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A senior NCO still wearing greens is showing no desire to remain in the Army of the future which is the message it sends regardless of wear out dates.<div>On the MSG board AAR notes, honest they are a crock. It's the same bullets every year just in a different order. </div><div>Promotions are based on the budget and MOS strength, one is too high and the other isn't high enough. The war time budget allowed too many promotions between 07-09 and now senior ranks are over. The QSP is supposed to make some room by cleaning out the trash but in my MOS 31B senior NCOs rarely if ever get in trouble.</div><div>I know what the board members look for on the board have less to do with what they put in the AAR comments. </div><div>This was the year of the 79R, last year was Engineers. </div>

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The ASU was adopted to replace and consolidate 3 uniforms (green, blue, white) primarily for the purpose of saving money.<br><br>Am I supposed to demonstrate support for the Army's cost saving measures by spending money to replace a perfectly serviceable uniform? I'm sorry, but the logic just doesn't work for me. <br>

If you are being looked and do not take an updated photo the board shouldn't even waist their time looking at your packet. Now if there is a real reason why you didn't take a new photo let say six months before the board. </div><div><br></div><div>My reasoning is this SENIOR right! That is who is getting looked at SSG and SFC in the secondary and primary zones they should be held accountable for these little things. A DA Photo is not time consuming. But it is the leg work why it doesn't get done, to much work ie: update ERB, updating ASU/Greens, Hair cut, or their scared they look unprofessional (chubby). So they blow it off and then blame everyone else why they didn't get selected.</div><div><br></div><div>Sorry I rambled, those are just my thoughts.</div><div>V/R<br>1SG Haro</div>

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think (in my opinion, tracking that I will most lickly never be looked at for MSG) that holding that against anyone is 100% wrong and unfair and sounds like a lot of personal belief rather than standard setting.
