If you are coming up on your tenure and are hoping to transfer into a vacancy, it would be wise to transfer early (double-slot) before the person transferring out falls off the UMR. Yes, they are taking our positions and getting bonuses for doing so. Yes, this means they will be taking our seats at schools (ALC, SLC, CCC) as well . . . even if they have already been to their advanced course in their former branch. It is important that these vacancies are filled with current reservists already branch qualified before offering bonuses to AC folks from other branches.<br /><br />WTH, big Army? AC soldiers getting cut, so you're going to push down and out RC soldiers who make the grade to make room for those you're cutting? This has been going on for years so no big surprise. Same is true when recruiting into AC. When Big Army was looking for soldiers, AC was able to out-bonus NG &amp; Reserves and meet their quotas while we were left with the scraps and NG &amp; USAR recruiters being beat up for not making their quotas.
