I'm a lower enlisted soldier and am wanting to better my career, Honestly wanting a deployment, for some odd reason my unit has not deployed in 4 years.. I don't plan on doing 20 as of right now, but I definitely want something more challenging.

I wouldn't advise going into SF so you can get on a deployment. Go SF because you believe in the mission and want to become a warrior diplomat. If you don't want that, you're not a good fit. Not a bad thing if that's the case. Just the reality of the mission and mindset.

I believe the clear answer is whether you rather be in SF or be in Rangers. Very different units with very different missions. Connect with folks in those organizations and learn more about what your life would be like there... choose whichever sounds more appealing to you and apply for that pipeline...

I am interested in the SOF community and plan on pursuing that path, but I was just curious about people's opinions on each route. If it were up to you, which would you choose and why?

For starters, why did you leave the Q course?
This question has been beaten to death, and without any personal information we can't tell YOU any differently what would be better for YOU than the hundred or so other posts that ask the same question.
But, for reference, if you want to become a jack of all trades and teach people, then go to the Q course. If you want to kick down doors and shoot people in the face, then go to Ranger Regiment, if you can pass. RIP was the hardest school or selection that I ever attended. Much harder than SFAS or Ranger School.
