She doesn't ship to Basic/AIT until June of 2016 and is currently enrolled at a local community college taking core classes. She and I are trying to figure out if it benefits her to take classes in the Spring semester or to take the semester off as I have not been able to find out what credits her AIT will cover. Anyone that has any knowledge of what a 68P ATTRS transcript will look like please share! Thank you!Advice for my new recruit who enlisted as a 68P?2015-12-14T13:53:37-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1174904<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I recently recruited an outstanding young woman as a 68P (Radiology Specialist). All I'm trying to say is that I would have her stay in school, doing and learning something constructive until she ships out to Basic. If she is guaranteed to become a 68P, I'd focus on anything that will enhance her future in that role. When I was a young Sailor and all throughout my career, I was all about taking every course, attending every seminar or school that I could. Knowledge is probably the greatest advantage when it comes to advancement time. Second by only a hair is that ever indispensable OJT.Response by SCPO Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 14 at 2015 1:58 PM2015-12-14T13:58:38-05:002015-12-14T13:58:38-05:00MSG Brad Sand1174941<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><br />Wow...um, seems like we might have the cart before the horse here a bit but not having worked directly with your soldier I am guessing a bit? College is not going to hurt, but make sure she gets those core classes in. Instead of asking what the ATTRS transcripts are going to look like, you may want to contact the school and see what credits they are going to count from her training? They should be able to look at it from the school's side without too much effort.Response by MSG Brad Sand made Dec 14 at 2015 2:05 PM2015-12-14T14:05:59-05:002015-12-14T14:05:59-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member1175253<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Feel free to send me an email! I understand that you are a recruiter, but staying in school and going direct commission would be way more beneficial to her long term.Response by SPC(P) Jay Heenan made Dec 14 at 2015 6:01 PM2015-12-14T18:01:07-05:002015-12-14T18:01:07-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1205498<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Start doing PRT now! Degree focusing on non-science courses like college composition, history, humanities, etc. Once she graduates from her AIT which is 46weeks long, because METC program is not accredidated by ARRT yet, she would need to complete Associates degree before she can test out for ARRT registry. She would then have to forward her transcript to any college that she wants to acquire from and have them evaluate requirements. My soldiers contacted Thomas Edison university. They would allow most of courses to CLEP out except a couple of classes. Last time I checked, they had about 7-8 classes to complete before AA degree. I can ask my soldiers a copy of their eval so that she can get an idea if you would like.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 28 at 2016 9:57 AM2016-02-28T09:57:55-05:002016-02-28T09:57:55-05:002015-12-14T13:53:37-05:00
