Does anyone know the reason that an AF Band member gets promoted to TSgt upon completion of basic training? It took me 10 yrs to make that rank, so it's a little demoralizing to see a 19 yr old that has been in for 4 months hold the same rank as me. I'm not hating, I'm just trying to get a "big picture" view of this, if there is one.

So, this girl is 19, 4 months TIS and made Tech. Sgt (E-6) already. Typo? Misprint? Or horrible lapse in judgement?
