In the first spring fighting season since the U.S.-led coalition ended combat operations in Afghanistan, heavy clashes are being reported in at least 10 Afghan provinces. The provinces are in every corner of the country, creating widespread unease about whether the Afghan government and army can repel the threat.

How's bout we tell ISIS that the Taliban think's they're a bunch of pansies and let THEM duke it out? Then it becomes a humanitarian mission for us to just come in and mop up the mess.

We can only do so much. Never been to Afgan, but the way I see Iraq and I don't think Afgan is any different - They owe no allegiance to a nation, they give it to a tribe, area lord or what ever. It has been this way for years and will be very hard to change. Add the religious part to it and it's just a roll of the dice. Until they can decide to unite together and do this for themselves, their own country, this problem will remain, no matter how many men, money and material we waste there.

The Afghans have a passive army, while the Taliban own the terrain.

It's just a matter of time before our troops are in harms way. Unfortunately the politicians don't know what they trying to achieve or don't have a end game.
