SPC Private RallyPoint Member 7211142

Asked a drill Sergeant but cant get anything specific for information except that I need to contact the transportation office beforehand. After AIT my first PCS is Korea, I'm married as well. Will I get any leave or time before going to korea or will my wife be alone? 2021-08-24T08:31:35-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 7211142

Asked a drill Sergeant but cant get anything specific for information except that I need to contact the transportation office beforehand. One depending on the station out there means only you can go and the other allows for family members to PCS with you. I am sure someone with alittle more insight will answer this as well. It is a lot different now with COVID though. Did you try asking if you could take her with you on Command Sponsorship? Don’t get many chances to actually live in another country. What is the report date? When do you graduate AIT? That will tell you if you're getting Leave or not. If you didn't already, see if you can apply for Command Sponsorship to get your wife to come with you. Otherwise, she will be in the States for 1 year without you. Let's run this up the channels and get someone involved that can answer your questions....Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Leader, 1SG or CO. It seems your a E-4 which maybe prior service or college would be my guess.

Therefore, utilize the tools the Army gave you - don't stop until you get the correct answers. Because, let's say you've taken leave after basic and it was ADVANCED LEAVE...you May not be authorized leave before Korea. There's to many situations......DONT WAIT, take it higher and get your answer!

Good luck. It’s pretty easy and doesn’t take too long (usually) to get them here however sometimes there are limited sponsorships. It will also depend on what base you’re going to, I believe Camp Humphreys is the only one that you’re able to have your family but don’t quote me for sure on that Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 24 at 2021 11:14 AM 2021-08-24T11:14:15-04:00 2021-08-24T11:14:15-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 7211881

When you're an IET Soldier you'll usually get shipped straight to Korea before you can apply for command sponsorship to bring your family.

As everyone said, when you report depends on your orders date Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 24 at 2021 1:05 PM 2021-08-24T13:05:18-04:00 2021-08-24T13:05:18-04:00 2021-08-24T08:31:35-04:00
