After being honorably discharged (RE-3B) from the Navy, would the Navy bother taking me back or would the Army be a better AD option?

I separated from the Navy in 2012 and I later joined the Army National Guard in 2013. I competed my full term in the National Guard, however, I only completed 3 of 4 years in the Navy due to lack of a family care plan. I was honorably discharged under RE-3B with the Navy. I was wondering if the Navy would bother taking me back or if going the Army route would be a better active duty option?

Not sure about the Navy but you could go active duty with an administrative waiver, which isn’t difficult as long as your situation has improved from what it was.

Do you have a family care plan now? When there is a waiver requirement you must proove that it is no longer a constrain. Example: you were discharged for no family care plan, if you are now able to provide legal documentation that you have a plan, your waiver will be approved. Go to the nearest recruiter, bring alk your dd214s and other documentation, but be sure to have your family care plan ready. I am certain that will be able to get back to AD. Thank you. I do have a family care plan in place. What type of legal documents do I need to provide to prove that one is in place?

The legal paperwork that gives the caregiver the right to take of your child/children. If you have share custody with the father, court documents usually work. The recruiter should be able to tell what document is best.

i would say if you are, and you want to stay in your MOS , your are more likely to get active duty in the army than the navy.
Although I would say if your heart is in the navy , you will more than likely be looking at an uphill battle , especially if you need a waiver to get back in.
