After completing 68C AIT how many classes do you need to take to complete an associates degree?

That all depends on how many credits your civilian institution grants upon review of your JST.

To get your ADN, it will take you about 2 years. One to do your prerequisites and one to 1.5 to finish your RN program. It depends on your state, your school, etc.

It all lies with the institution you work toward the degree with. Earning an Associates does not buy too many cups of coffee should you look to advance in your field, why not sign up for a Bachelors right off the bat.

FYI, it would be a generic associates, not a nursing degree.

It depends on your degree, and how many credits your school is willing to shave off once you submit your JST. I'm an 11B, and my school gave me 48 credits towards a BS in Marketing. Most of the credits on my JST count toward leadership and communication, which knocked out most business classes and electives required for that program. If I were going for a medical degree, I wouldn't have gotten nearly as many credits because not many required classes for that degree line up with what my JST is giving me.

I also agree with what CSM ZaGara said, you should consider a Bachelors if there's a program that interests you. Any school that you apply for will give you far less credits going for an Associates than if you were going for a Bachelors. They still want you to take courses so they can get their money.

I’m a 68C currently in college working on my BSN. There are some online schools that will accept some credits from your AIT, but it’s a toss up which ones will be counted and they will only apply to a “Associate of Health Sciences” if you are lucky. Those schools are not the easiest to find and the decent ones that actually count for something are few and far between. Through the regular college I attend (University of Alaska Fairbanks for instance) they gave me elective credits, but I am still having to do all of my core classes to apply to a BSN program. It really all depends on what you want to do with it though. If it’s just for points, any college/associates degree will count for the 120 points it’ll give you.
