After getting promoted to SSG and moved to different company, should my change of rater NCOER be completed with my previous rank?

I just got promoted and started working in a different company and section the same day of my promotion. Now I need to start my Change of rater NCOER. I was a SGT the entire time and all my duties were on that level. Should I put my previous rank or my current rank on it?

If your DOR is before the thru date, the NCOER will reflect the new rank

Yes you will list your previous rank. I would also like to recommend that you first read any regulation associated with future questions. If the answer remains ambiguous then reach out to the network. I know that you want to be recognized as a strong NCO, and you should, so own your career. Thank you for your service.

Wondering why you are doing your change of rater? Shouldn’t you have had sessions with your rater going over your support form?

Whatever your rank was for the majority of your rating period is what your eval should reflect. Remember...an NCOER is to be written in PAST tense by your rater. Sr rater writes to your potential in the future.

You NCOER will be of your current rank so E6 SSG. Its automatically populated with the NCOER for SSG through CSM.

And yes you are doing the right thing by getting a change of rater as long as you meet the regulations of being rated for more than 90 days from your previous NCOER.

I don't know the regs but I am pretty sure you should put the rank you held as of the closing date of the rating period.

The rank that you had during the majority of the rating period does not matter. The rank that goes on the NCOER is based on your rank on the day of the thru date. Example if you got promoted 1june 2018 and your thru date was 1 june 2018 or beyond the rank would be SSG. If the thru date is prior to your date of rank for ssg then you would place SGT on the eval. well it's not ur job to start your change of rater but it is ur job to inform your new rater of what happened to reflect on your change of rater ncoer

What is the thru date of the NCOER? What is your promotion date on your orders? If the promotion date is inside the rated period.....
