After interviewing for a state position, when/or should I call HR to see where they are in the hiring decision?

SSgt Craig Williams I have not had any success getting them to respond here in MO when doing that. The typical process here is a couple months before they send you a confirmation letter asking if you still want to be considered for the job, and then another month or two before they set up an interview.
