I also selected the school option so I am currently in school full time and don't go "back to work" until Oct. I don't want to go in and ask because I am trying to stay out of sight out of mind. Here are the facts are then my question
-Currently have 46 semester hours, need 60 to apply to CID, will be completed by early Feb
-My unit is deploying early next year, will be second deployment and not trying to get out of it
- Should make points next month for E5
My question after all the facts is are you allowed to reclass during that 18 months of stabilization? I have read here and other places you have a code on your Army file that will not let you be moved or request a move during that 18 months. I just want to be sure that is valid to have a solid plan in place. Any advice? After reenlisting, are you allowed to reclass during your 18 months of stabilization? 2019-08-10T00:01:14-04:00 SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member 4900367

Hello,

I am currently wanting to go CID, I re-enlisted in Feb for 3 years with 18 months of that being stabilization. First, you have to be accepted into the MOS, second you have to request Reclass.
The application part is you applying to CID. Their acceptance memo means you meet the qualifications to request training - it doesn't mean you will be allowed to reclass, or that there's a class seat for you. They don't care about your stabilization or ETS date, they just verify that you meet all requirements to request training.
The second part is requesting Reclass. You take your acceptance memo to your Career Counselor and your request is sent to HRC. They will determine whether you can reclass based on strengths of the MOS and policies. Then, they will slot you a class if one is available. If you have a stop move or stabilization code, your training will be slotted for after that. If it's stabilization, you can waive it once you receive your acceptance letter in order to get an earlier date Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 10 at 2019 1:10 AM 2019-08-10T01:10:16-04:00 2019-08-10T01:10:16-04:00 SPC Nancy Greene 4900430

I think you are eligible to reclassify during ‘stabilization ‘ as long as the reclassification doesn’t conflict with the 18 month stabilization. Not exactly certain, but hope this helps. I would check the regulations to be sure.
