I live in Thailand. I get Tricare for life. Have to prepay if I go into the hospital or get my annual physical. I do not carry the dental. Dental is so cheap in Thailand. I do not need it.

As far as I know, there are no restrictions on where you live. Electronic banking is a wonderful thing. As long as you can reach the internet, you should be able to keep up with your retired pay in MyPay, and you TRICARE benefits on their page.

Caution: as you approach Social Security and Medicare ages, check into their rules for living abroad. I'm fairly sure your be okay with Social Security, but I think Medicare is in-US only.

I know for us in DMH our age and seniority need to add up to 100 or very close for me to get 80 percent. I am 49 almost and in my 15th year. So at 64 I will be in my 30th year and that's when ill be close to 80 percent. Everybody has a time when the numbers work just right for them and I am also social security eligible.

Would a former mental health client even be eligible to join the military or not? given the current political climate I wasn't sure with red flag laws etc. But it was for a client I was asking this info.

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
