SPC Timothy Singer 6453061

I am currently aware that the MEPS process will be the typical experience as I have been out for a length of time, but am curious as to what will happen after the process, all things going accordingly. I have passed my 8 years of obligated and am looking to re-enlist and pursue OCS, options of which are unknown to me at this time as I have yet to speak with a GC at MEPS.

What am I to expect once going OCS? As prior service (E-4) now with a 4 year degree, will I be heading to Bliss (old home away from) first or will I be heading straight off to Benning? I have seen conflicting information saying that since I have a degree already, I start off commissioned, but that didn't sound right at all.

Any and all information is appreciated, thank you for your time. After the MEPS process, what am I to expect going to OCS as a prior service ADA? 2020-10-30T10:02:31-04:00 SPC Timothy Singer 6453061

I am currently aware that the MEPS process will be the typical experience as I have been out for a length of time, but am curious as to what will happen after the process, all things going accordingly. Since you are prior enlisted, odds are that you will not have to repeat the BCT part of the process. If accepted, you would be given a class date for OCS. As of a recent board, with an acceptance rate of 36%, 270+ PT Scores and 3.8 minimum GPAs, I'd more than likely not make the program. I did however learn that IRR time doesnt count for anything, even though the Army sent me a Certificate at the end of the 8 year window. So I had already had preconceived notions that were incorrect. It is what it is.

Thank you for your time and answers, it was appreciated. At the very least, I can be a college educated ground pounder, as opposed to fresh out of high school and naive as before. They have 3 different paths to becoming an officer and your acceptance packet would be pretty darn tight as it would be part of your enlistment contract to enter as a cadet getting either E-5 or E-6 pay. Call a Guard recruiter and ask for the officer recruiting manager. Crazy how as prior service, its so hard to get back in. One team one fight, right? Let me know how your process went as I am following the same path.
