After you do a drill SGT assignment, can you try to be a recruiter?

That weas the standard for many E-5,6,7's for many years to do one then the other.

you can but you should spend some time doing your MOS 6 years away is a long time.

Sure...you can try just about any change in MOS....i.e., if there are slots available and there's a need or requirement for it. Check with personnel.

I Retired from the Army in 1994. I was a Recruiter. Went to my primary mos for 4 years then became a Drill Sergeant. Both were great jobs but I loved the Drill Sergeant status more.

You are more likely to be a recruiter then ds, it can be difficult for a former ds to be a good recruiter

You can always ask, but normal doctrine is to return you to troop duty before sending you off from the mainstream again.

While it is possible, I would coach against it. you would potentially spend 6 years off the line and out of touch with the day to day intricacies of normal unit operations. What you would gain from the experiences would not make up for how far out of touch you could become for the contrary. Thank you for your service.

I seen and met recruiters that were drill SGT's.
